da 888casino: Karim Benzema has been a big part of the Real Madrid family for a number of years now, and according to Don Balon, the veteran striker now feels he deserves to be the best-paid player in the squad.
If true, this could spell trouble for the Galacticos.
What’s the word, then?
It seems that the 31-year-old Frenchman has become conscious of his own performances, as per the same source’s claims.
Benzema has already tallied six goals and one assist in the eight games he played in La Liga so far in the campaign and for that reason, it’s difficult to disprove the fact that he has been their best performer to this very moment.

And for that reason, Don Ballon suggest that the Frenchman wants a better contract, one that would actually make him the best-paid player in the whole squad.
Unfortunately for him, however, Florentino Perez doesn’t seem to be on the same page and that could cause some problems for Real Madrid.
A huge decision
The obvious problem in this situation is the apparent internal debate that seems to be going on behind the scenes.
Benzema, just like many others according to Don Balon, feels underappreciated and his demands, although a bit extreme, are still valid to a certain extent.

When Real Madrid lost Cristiano Ronaldo, it was actually the now 31-year-old Frenchman who stepped up and started performing in the Portuguese’s absence.
Benzema is very much a leader of this team and should be treated as such.
But the other side of the coin is also there – he is getting on and with 31 years already on his back, can Real Madrid really bank on him for the future? Hardly so – he is an immediate fix and a short-term solution to a long-term problem.
The problem intensifies when we consider Benzema is practically Los Blancos’ only source of goals.
He tops the charts with six to his name while Gareth Bale is the next in line with just two.
Quite clearly, he is someone they can’t afford to lose right now but does that mean his demands should be met, regardless of whether it makes sense for the club or not?
Perez and Zidane have some thinking to do and for their own sake, let’s hope they choose the right thing.
