In truth, the Three Lions’ Group E draw was fairly kind, but the way in which Roy Hodgson’s men dispatched of the teams that sat in their path was truly impressive, especially in the case of a solid Switzerland side.Now attention can turn to the tournament in France next summer, which will be Hodgson’s third at the helm of England. In terms of success at major competitions, the men in white shirts haven’t enjoyed much in recent times, with 2014’s World Cup debacle, perhaps, the lowest point.
