Despite plenty of animosity between the two squads, Queens Park Rangers and Chelsea players will adhere to the pre match formal handshakes before tomorrow’s Premier League clash in West London.
Chelsea and England defender John Terry was recently found not guilty in court with regards to a racial abuse allegation put forward by Rangers centre back Anton Ferdinand after an incident at Loftus Road last season.
Despite Terry having previous in the ‘handshake-gate’ fiasco that saw victim Wayne Bridge refuse to shake his hand while playing for Manchester City, the bosses of the Premier League feel the pre match gesture is still a priority.
“There has been dialogue between the Premier League, Queens Park Rangers and Chelsea in relation to tomorrow’s match between the two clubs,” read a statement released from the Premier League.
“All parties understand and acknowledge that the pre-match handshake will go ahead as part of the normal pre-match activity.”
