da 888: Assistant manager Dave Kemp hopes the current Stoke City players can emulate their 1972 counterparts and go all the way in the League Cup this season.
da fazobetai: The Potters are currently enjoying one of the best periods in their history, certainly since the League Cup Final success against Chelsea almost four decades ago, and Kemp is convinced now is a good time to put some more silverware in the Britannia Stadium trophy cabinet.
In the build-up to the Potters' Carling Cup third-round clash with Fulham, Kemp said:"This club has history in this competition, so it would be something special if we could advance and do something in it.
"I'm sure quite a number of Stoke supporters weren't even born when the club won the cup, so it's important we have some success in this era to give people something to hang on to now.
"I've been to the semi-finals as a coach with Crystal Palace and Wimbledon, but each time we seemed to draw one of the big ones.
"I remember we got Tottenham one year when they went on to win it. I was a bit luckier in the FA Cup semis with Wimbledon when we drew Luton and went on to win the cup at Wembley."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
