Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag hopes Marcus Rashford is like "a ketchup bottle" after scoring against Southampton.

Ten Hag saw his United side win 3-0 at St Mary's, thanks to goals from Matthijs De Ligt, Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho. Rashford's strike was his first in the league since March and was a superb finish, as he cut inside from the left and curled the ball into the bottom corner.

Rashford's form has been under the microscope for some time, since he was left out of Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024. But his manager is now hopeful that the goals will start flowing.
WHAT TEN HAG SAID
Ten Hag told on what Rashford's goal will do for his confidence: "It's very important. For every striker, they want to be on the scoring list. Once the first is in, more is coming. Once a striker was talking about a ketchup bottle, once it's going, it's coming more."
He added: to : "It's very important. We spoke before the game and it is so huge for him, for every striker, when the season starts you want to be on the scoring list. Now he has his first, I'm sure more will come. "We had the chances to kill the game off, we had the chances, I don't know how many. We had several to go to 3 or 4-0."
