Wrexham are set to strengthen their squad after winning promotion to the Championship. Manager Phil Parkinson has admitted his side are targeting Premier League players in a bid to increase the quality in the squad as they prepare for life in the second tier of English football.

Cairney is one of several top-flight players to have been linked with a move to Wrexham. Reynolds and McElhenney are said to be willing to spend big and offer Cairney a lucrative contract at Wrexham as he heads towards his existing deal at Craven Cottage. Cairney has now addressed the situation and admits he's not sure of his next move as he continues to discuss his future with Fulham and a possible renewal.

He told reporters: "We’ll see what happens next week. We’re still in talks, so it’s a weird feeling right now. I don’t know which way to go about it, obviously I want to thank a few people, but at the same time, we’re still in talks.”
